What software do I have to download for an Epson Perfection 1250 scanner? December 30, 2009

I’m completely computer-tarded. Is there a software I have to download for it to work? I saw this TWAIN software on the Epson site on a similar question. Does it work, is it harmful for my computer, and does it cost anything to download?Submited by:Cranky-chan

You should have got an installation disk with the scanner that contains all the drivers and programs needed. TWAIN is part of the software on the disk.

Hello,

Look in the box that the scanner came in and there will be a CD with all the software you need to install to get this Scanner to work. Put the CD into the CD slot on your computer and it will probably automatically pop up and ask you if you want to install the drivers and the software.

If not then look here on the Epson web site and download the drivers and software for the 1250
or

For sure select the TWAIN driver for the OS that you are running which will be either Windows XP or Windows VISTA or Macintosh, and download the latest driver available.

It looks like there is some software called Smartpanel, but I don’t see a download for the entire software suite, only portions of the software are available on . You really need the CD that came with the scanner to get this software.

The link below is for the EPSON 1250 Perfection Scanner. If you have the 1250 PHOTO Scanner, the above poster’s links are correct.

The key to installing the software is that the scanner and the computer have to be disconnected. Wait until the install routine prompts you to connect the scanner and turn it on.
