As that is about 10 cents a page I think there are lasers that will do more than the 700 pages output a cartidge.

My Brother HL2040 (paid $50) does about 3,000 pages per toner. A full cartridge is around $35 but I can get toner refill on ebay for $6. My Samsung CLP-300 color laser (paid $80 after rebate) does 2,000 black pages and 1,000 color pages per toner. A set of 4 toners is $50. So 700 pages for a $69 toner is no bargain. That’s 10 cents a page which is more expensive than inkjets using name brand cartridges.

10 cents per page is also more money than Kinko’s, if I’m not mistaken. The top 10 ink jets average 5 cents, the top 10 lasers average 3 cents (according to 2008). Behind the cartridge cost lurks the drum cost. You can actually save on the cost of a drum, which will bring down your overall cost of ownership.
