Posted by Kuba in : People , trackback
I opened up my printer and fixed it/hacked it to do my bidding! HP has some ink that has a chip inside to tell your printer it can’t print without some new ink. So you get to either spend 120.00 for new ink or do this. Here is the work around for the date issue but it doesn’t always work. n the printer ini file (c:/windows/hpbj1100.ini) I made one change…. the following line DeviceIoControl error:=997 changed to DeviceIoControl error:=0000 —————————————- There is …

search the youtube the video, “dirty little secret about printers”. it explains why you have so much ink that fell inside your printer. he shows how printers are designed purposely that way, while Hp claims its to lubercate the printer head (of course).

I think glad to hear it helped you. Yeah the blinking lights is a pain but I have mine in a closet.

Good work. Mod works with 1200d (duplex). Works with all black and color cartridges regardless of expiry. Also works with the eBay continuous ink system.

Only have to put up with power (green) and paper (amber) blinking on/off constantly.

Also taking off bottom side grey panel: just flip the printer upside down and take a screw driver and pry off grey panel from bottom. Comes off with minimal breakage to tabs. 30 seconds and can pop back on after.

Again, works great!

put a continus ink system on that printer if the bypass works long term and call hp on the phone and tell them your ink is expired and your still printing fine and that there a bunch of F### heads. For fun.

I think maybe next time. The point of this hack was to avoid spending more money.

Hey Kurt, buy a Brother laser printer. I got mine for like $250 and the toner lasts forever. And prints on plain ol’ paper.

I think Yeah well that’s true. I guess it’s the same folks that put Obama’s numbers together. You know where he “saved” 150,000 jobs?

HP, EPSON, CANON, etc make basically nothing on printers but make a killing on ink. If you want to reload or buy cheaper third-party cartilages a simple GOOGLE search will help a lot and you need to find older models. If you need help send me a PM.

GREAT VID!
Hell, didn’t HP come out with a commercial on tv stating how much you can save on ink?!
