How do I set up a HP printer to count the number of sheets that different computers print? May 4, 2010

I would like to network my printer so that I can count who prints a certain number of sheets. Is there software or a function on HP printers to do such a thing?

The printer is networked through a Linksys Wireless router. Two users are using Macs and I am using PC.

I think You may just have to hire a programmer to build a custom software for you.

They would need to get access to the printer and monitor the printer spooler.
I have not heard of a pre configured software though.

I think No need any programs to do that, just you need to set the print driver, i don’t know which OS you have, but all Windows OS are similar.

> go to printer and Faxes
> Choose you printer
> Right click
> Choose Properties
> Choose Advanced Tab
> check “Keep printed documents”
> OK

by doing this, every one prints the queue will keep the printed document and will show number of pages printed, name of the document, program used, and size.

Please don’t forget to delete the document from the list after checking . or on daily or weekly bases.
