How do I remove permanent ink from my shirt? March 15, 2010

I just made a new shirt in screen printing and I accidentally rubbed some ink on the shirt. The shirt is a white shirt and the ink is not water based. I tried baking soda and nail polish remover and they didn’t work. Any other ideas?

Rubbing alcohol or hairspray. Put a paper towel underneath and blot until all the color is off. If that doesn’t work…then it’s probably doomed :o (

I think Spray ink spots wet with hairspray then rub with a bar soap, then spray wet again and rub the soap on again (twice) then wash in cold water with your detergent. It doesn’t matter if you’ve washed it before the hairspray and bar soap will get ink out.

I frequently get ink marks on my clothing at work, and hairspray work the best.

Spray enough hairspray on the area to completely soak the fabric, then immediately throw it in the washer and wash as usual.
