How do I fix the vertical line issue on my laser printer? April 30, 2010
Posted by Kuba in : Printers , trackbackMy printer is a black and white laser lexmark and it has been printing with some lines that are not filled in with ink so there are white lines (or vertical gaps) on the printed pages. How do I fix this and what is the problem that makes this occur? I’ve sprayed the toner cartridge and the printer’s inside parts with air duster, but nothing has been solved.

It could be a defective fuser, Defective toner cartridge, or a contaminated laser path.
Start by replacing the toner cartridge. This is by far the most common cause. If the issue persists, it would require factory repair because the other 2 issues require replacement of internal parts.
I think Try taking out the cartridge and giving it a good shake. This has – on occasion – worked for me. If that does not work, you may need a new cartridge or even a new printer.
I do not recomend sraying the cartridge. This may cause damage. Take a look at the cartridge and see if you can see toner on the cartridge.
To do this, remove the cartridge and pull down the face plate. Look at the cartridge inside and see if there is toner lines on the cartridge. If so, it is likely time to replace the cartridge. This should not happen but it does happen time to time.
I do supply these cartridges.
