How do I connect my son’s laptop to my printer through a wireless connection? April 21, 2010

Our family desktop computer is wired to a printer, and my son’s laptop in his room is connected by wireless connection to this computer. I want to enable my son’s laptop to use the printer. What steps do I need to take so he can use my printer from his laptop? Thanks

the printer would also need to be wireless capable or connected to a server comp with sharing enabled

Setup file and print sharing on your laptop and map his system to the printer on your computer. Note you computer will have to be turned on for this to work. If you click on start then help search for file and print sharing that should help you get it all setup.

I think Go to the printer’s properties in Control Panel/Printers on the desktop. The Sharing tab.

On the laptop, add a new printer. A network printer. Browse for the printer on the desktop. Let the laptop install it.

Done.
