How do I turn color ink into black on paper?

I need to print a black-white contrast illustration, but my printer is out of black ink, and due to some confusion I got a new color cartridge instead.

I am hoping to run a website, and on this site I want to make files available for downloading and printing. It just keeps taking the paper and pushing it out immediately. I toook the cartridges out and shook them/ shut the printer off/ restarted my computer..everything i know to do!

How do I fix the vertical line issue on my laser printer?

My printer is a black and white laser lexmark and it has been printing with some lines that are not filled in with ink so there are white lines (or vertical gaps) on the printed pages. How do I fix this and what is the problem that makes this occur? I’ve sprayed the toner cartridge and the printer’s inside parts with air duster, but nothing has been solved.
