How do I set up a HP printer to count the number of sheets that different computers print? May 4, 2010

I would like to network my printer so that I can count who prints a certain number of sheets. Is there software or a function on HP printers to do such a thing?
The printer is networked through a Linksys Wireless router. Two users are using Macs and I am using PC.

I am looking for an new HP 4000 series printer for my office. I have found that some printers are labeled as network printers. The printers we have are not network printers but are “shared” through our network. What is the difference?

I am hoping to run a website, and on this site I want to make files available for downloading and printing. I want these files to be in color, but I don’t want to cost my users a fortune in color ink usage. Are there particular colors that use less ink when printing? It just keeps taking the paper and pushing it out immediately. I toook the cartridges out and shook them/ shut the printer off/ restarted my computer..everything i know to do!

I have the correct version of the printer software. I downloaded it from Epson’s website. I start the installation software. It asks for me to connect the printer and turn it on so that it can configure it. After a while of waiting it returns a dialogue box stating that it can’t find the printer and to retry. I plugged the printer into the computer using the usb cable. I know that usb is working because I can plug many other devices in and it they work fine. Any help is appreciated.Submited by:bhoke98

Got new ink , but the heads are in the printer , not in new ink tank.

I currently have a big HP printer that does not fit in the new cabinets we just installed. I’d like to be able to put a printer on the shelf so it’s out of sight. The shelf is about 12″ deep, 24″ wide, and 8″ tall. The printer I’d want would be a high quality photo printer, but doesn’t need to be top of the line on the photo printing.
