I have a canon digital rebel xt that i received as a Christmas present. I’d like to take professional looking portraits of my baby and family, whats the best lens for this? I’d also like to buy a good lens for landscape photography. Any suggestions?

I want a new digital camera, and Canon PowerShot was recommended to me. It’s for casual, vacation picture use.
What’s the difference between the Canon PowerShot SD1200-IS and the Canon PowerShot A1100-IS. The latter is cheaper, but will it be lower quality?

i was contemplating of buying a battery grip for my canon D40. however the canon is so expensive compared to those unnamed brands. i just need your thoughts and comparison regarding these options. branded or unnamed battery grip. your opinion!

I have a Canon SD1000 that works great with windows. But when I plug it into my MacBook, neither the camera nor the computer recognize that they’re connected! I can even still take pictures with the camera. I opened iPhoto and tried to import pictures, but the computer doesn’t show the camera under “Devices” so I can’t do anything… I don’t know where the camera’s CD is, if it came with one. Is there some way of getting pictures from camera to laptop?

I really want to get a canon, but I also really want the beauty shop application that makes the skin look really good. Samsung has some amazing cameras that really make your picture perfect, but i don’t want a samsung.
Please help me find a canon camera with a similar application.
