how about 500d?
go for Canon 450D which is also known as Canon Rebel XSi in US market…since u r new to photography, it wud giv u chance to buy more lenses n overall its a great camera! Should have bought Canon 450D instead of my Sony Alpha 330!
I think I’m also a beginner and was planning on buying the 500d so I asked a professional photographer which camera I should get and he recommended this one because you get greater features for the money. I just got it last week and take it from me, its absolutely worth it even if you’re a beginner.
I think @nickercrusher
it depends on your budget.
you can go for 450D if it’s still available or 500D.
i’m also a beginner, i bought my canon 450D a few months ago and now thinking of upgrading it to this one.
I think you might like the canon eos 7d
guys i need help. Im planning to buy my first DSLR camera this month. And im a beginner when it comes to photography. Do you recommend this camera? if not, what camera is the best for a starter like me?
thanks
Yes it can, I use the Canon one, just look in the manual at accessories that you have to buy.
Do any of you have back focusing problems with yours? I have the 50 for about 7months and suddenly I have focusing problems. Couldn’t understand WHY it happened on all my lenses, doesn’t matter what f’stop I used. Went on google to find out and I found how to fix it myself in the custom functions. If i get more problems, seems it has to go back to Canon for mechanical repair.
Don’t use cheap glass to expect great outcomes with this camera!!
Otherwise , NO PROBLEMS AT ALL WITH MINE.
i understand. thank you gordon.
Sadly no plans – no time!
I think thanks man. a follow up question. do you consider creating a video tour of external flash guns or speedlites/speedlights?
Yep, see the bottom of the design page in my review at cameralabs . com.
gordon, can a cable release be installed in the 50d?
I think I’ve got Canon 50D DSLR mounted with SIGMA 18-200 mm F3.5-6.3 DC Lens.I’m not happy with it as it produces quite a high-noise image in both day&night conditions. So,i just wonder is it bcoz of the lens that i’m currently using has pretty low performance or does it have something to do with the camera’s censor?i’m new with this camera things and I also have to mention that i’m the third person who owns this particular camera..i got it from my friend, and he got it from someone. What should I Do?
does it shots HD videos ?
I think I just have the kit lens at the moment – 17-85mm – but I do agree with you on the L series
the grips are great, gives you an extra shutter release button if you’re shooting portraits and dont want to have to reach for the main button on the camera. I use mine a lot on my 400d
im wondering the same thing. Im upgrading soon and dont know which to go for.
I think i don’t know, the way quick live view mode operates with that mirror flipping sound and split second image interruption actually makes quick live fell cool to use… its as if your cocking a sniper rifle or something. a kind of thing to psyche-ready you up for shooting. its weird, but then again, its just my opinion.
its cool how canon even made the pop up flash sound a little “addicting” to hear. lol. great camera, i’ll have it sonn.
7d is for someone who will work as a photographer and the 50d is for someone who is a semiprofi
which camera is worth buying? the 50D OR 7D??
I think You’re very welcome! Don’t forget you can support me by shopping for anything through the partner stores page at cameralabs . com!
I think gordon, thank you very much, i made up my mind now… 50d is the one for me. i know gordon that you and camera labs aren’t biased about any brand, which is very exemplary, but thanks to your reviews, both vedio and articles, i have decided. more power gordon and cameralabs/dslrtips.
Thank you very much for your information. Very good review.
