err99 means 2 things:

1. the shutter is done (can be cured by restarting, but can return)
2. you have to clean the lens contacts

2. 1982pisces - March 5, 2010

it can’t be the lense because i took out the lense clean the shutter took a picture w/out a lense next thing you know..err99..

3. tismevance1 - March 5, 2010

Err 99 means the lense is not compatable with the camera.

4. zakezu - March 8, 2010

I’ve heard something like that error 99 means your shutter is broken. Sorry.

5. 1982pisces - March 11, 2010

my canon eos 40D show error 99, wah should i do

6. N6600 - March 13, 2010

is the pop up flash of this 40d similar to the 50d with a motorized sound when you pop it up?

7. ShutterPhotograpghy - March 15, 2010

….I MIGHT get a 40d in march I have a nikon d3000 right now. (Very noisy) and if anyone knows where they have some great prices for the 40d tell me please. BTW what lens were that one the 40d in the video?

8. matforsbon - March 19, 2010

I think Luckily a swedish camera store Scandinavian Photo has come over a limited stock of 40d houses that they sell for 5995 swedish crona compared to Nikon d300 18495 swedish crona. I ordered one amidetly. I save a lot of money I am in heaven.

9. philphie - March 22, 2010

almost the same? id ont know where youve been shopping but the price is considerably different and plus 40d is no longer in production but a few are floating around in leftover stock and second hand

10. philphie - March 24, 2010

I think 40d, but the 40d is no longer in production but you can find one cheap for second hand. the replacement for the 40d is he 50d which i think is overpriced and not as good as the 40d, the only thing better is the extra megapixels

11. bangoramas - March 26, 2010

which 1 is better, canon 40d or nikon d80??

12. evasmc - March 29, 2010

noisy
if noise is acceptable for you then no worries.
to me it’s too much

13. royraiden - April 1, 2010

I think What is “noicy”?The 6.5 fps apply to both jpeg and raw, otherwise it would be quite useless.

14. synechris - April 1, 2010

50d has more noise from iso400 and upper from 40d…but that;s acceptable cause of the 15mp sensor

15. emcee7 - April 1, 2010

any suggestions on where to purchase this model? I’m in SoCal, gonna try Samy Cams but couldnt find it searching their website. 50D a bit too pricey for me. thx.

16. RyanTheTuber - April 1, 2010

I think Guys, don’t listen to EVASMC (from below)

he is lying like hell

My 40D can do 49 bursts at LARGE RAW/JPEG at high speed.

from 100-1600 ISO. The noise is acceptable.

17. frededison - April 4, 2010

Try a firmware update if you haven’t done that for a while. If your image quality needs improvement then try a better lens. Say an L series model with the red ring, like the one in the video. Not cheap, but premium glass can make a world of difference in your photos.

18. marinell8228 - April 4, 2010

40d or 500d/T1i. it is a hard decision between those two SLR’s and also the price is almost same.

19. Irisdescence - April 5, 2010

Isn’t the “Mark” the best of all Canon cameras?

The 50D seems ok to me, but I heard so little complains about the 40D. I’ll trust it.

20. Desolatorx2 - April 9, 2010

I think it has 10MP, the guy mentioned it at the beginning

21. walternator2 - April 12, 2010

I think How many megapixels does it have?

22. Irisdescence - April 13, 2010

I want to buy that beautiful thing. A bit expensive but I am sure it’s worth it.

23. homersimpson587 - April 15, 2010

both cameras with give similar image quality, but the 40D has more advanced features and less limitations.
